The mid-infrared optical platform for Boreal Laser was a more complex extension of the 3-micron optical platform. It had to accomodate several large components and varying heat loads, which pushed the limit of available beam space. In the end it was successfully built and implemented in the mid-infrared gas detector.
Software used: Solidworks. Renders done using Photoview 360 Solidworks add-in. 3D printed PLA prototype validation carried out using Slic3r and Repetier software on a Machinacorp Mk2 printer.
Work done in 2016-2017.
